Assistant apps?

My principal is looking for a personal assistant app. He wants it to remind him of dates and other things he puts in. Said he tried the calendar but he doesn't like it much. Any ideas?

I find that using a text message scheduler works better for me. Just pick a time and date, then just put whatever message/reminder you want.
