Assistant no longer takes screenshots

Well this is another fine mess I've gotten myself into.
Not sure what happened or what I did but Google Assistant will no longer take screenshots whether by voice or using corner swipe up on my Pixel 4a. I can take screenshots via the power/volume button combination. See the two screenshots below taken using the buttons.
I've searched found a few answers but none worked.
Any thoughts?

There’s always the nuclear option, but you already knew that. Good luck on finding the accidental toggle or trigger sequence. I’m pretty sure you’ve attempted link below.

Try reset the Google app , clear its data then force stop.

The first pic in my post shows that I already did what was suggested in the link you provided. That's what is befuddling.

The sound you hear is my forehead banging on my desk.
I just did a hard reboot and the issue is fixed. Should have gone with Occum's Razor first.
