Thanks for responding. Yes I have. The camera opens but doesn't take a picture. I've added 10 seconds to the command but it still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

Good news. I cleared the cache, forced A STOP,,re-enabled, and TAKE A PICTURE worked.

I can't get Google assistant to take a picture via voice command even after trying the above.

There's a work around by downloading Google camera 6.3 here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...amera-6-3-017-253834016-android-apk-download/

It adds nightsight but moves panorama from the quick menu to the "more" menu. I installed it and now "take a photo" and "take a selfie" work from Google assistant.

I can't get Google assistant to take a picture via voice command even after trying the above. Also, the flip to open phone gesture no longer works.

I got up this am and found that TAKE A PICTURE didn't work again. I tried the procedure above again and it now works. I don't know what going on but I'll keep those instructions handy. Good luck.

I'm not on the beta. I guess that's the problem. I'll just live with it until the full version of Q arrives. Thanks for everyone's help.

It's funny that this old post has been bumped. I've been irritated that assistant won't take a selfie anymore. All it does is open the app on my brand new 3xl. Will try the above steps later
