Is the only way to turn on assistive light (flashlight) on the GN2 through the widget?

Is there another stock way? (No third party app)

Sorry mate, other than the widget (stock or 3rd party), the only way to turn your LED flash on is to open your camera app, select video, and turn the flash on. There are 3rd party apps that don't necessarily use a widget, though... They can place a quick launch button in the notification bar or respond to movement in the lockscreen.
