Why does this app/widget require so many permissions? I understand that other apps may require the LED light for notifications, camera light, fx, and other items. It says "To improve performance and reduce memory usage. Some of these permissions are available to Settings because it runs in the same process as Settings"

No app requires that much access.

You must always look at what permission the app requires before you download or install the app.

A cellphone/handheld computer has lots of information that requires protection. I do not give access to anything that wants or request permission to email, text or call anyone from my phone list or email list.

Uninstall this ASAP and no matter how much you think you need an app do not download something that requires this type of access or permissions.

It is an app that came with the phone. It is in the widget section.

That looks like malware to me I'd do a factory reset if I was you cos like the above post says no app requires that much access and the most worrying part is where it says about direct calls and msgs , install some antivirus and if nothing comes up as a virus then I'd recommend a factory wipe... Good luck.

I looked at my Note 3 because it's still stock and I couldn't find an app on the phone for "assistive light" (though I do have the widget).

When I looked closer at your pictures, the application you're posting the permissions for is the "Settings" app, so it makes a lot of sense to me that it would require so many permissions. Settings kinda controls your whole phone.

Absolutely. If anyone had paid any attention to the pictures, they would see the permissions pictured are for the settings app.

Too funny,

FYI, EACH App/widget has it's own permissions.....a flashlight type app...wherever it is found does not require these types of permissions. My note three did not come with this widget/app and glad it did not. Bloatware, useless apps..to some? I looked at all the installed apps on my device and removed uninstalled or turned off any app that requested permissions that I did not think where justified based on its function.

If you are ok with a flashlight app or wallpaper app in settings requesting access and permissions like these...good luck with that.

Maybe I just missed something....LOL it would not be the first or last time...

I put the widget on my home screen. I turned it on. I went to notifications.

Pressed and held the notification until app info came up.

I pressed on app info and that is how i got to the settings you see.
