if this is old, here it is again.

asurion, verizon's phone insurance company that insures your phone if its broke.....is shipping me a dx2 for my water logged dx because they no longer have them. :) happy days.

Ideas on how I could take advantage of this with a perfectly functioning phone? Should I break it? Claim something is wrong with it?

This is a fad that started a while back. I read on some other forums dating back a couple months about people doing this. Some are getting a D2, some are getting an X(since they are still sold online and in stores, someone has them in stock) and some are getting an X2. I guess it depends what Asurion can get their hands on. Not sure Im cool with people intentionally breaking their devices in hopes of getting the next best thing. Especially when some came thru here and we helped them in small or large capacities. Just my 0.02

When I had a Storm 1 I broke the LCD and turned it into insurance. The S1 they sent had issues, I was then given an option to get another Storm 1 or Storm 2. Obviously I took the S2. It was brand new in box. At some point during the process I either signed something or was verbally told that if they found I traded up fraudulently I would be prosecuted...

Considering that we have come as far as having CM7 on the Droid X, I wouldn't want a Droid X2. Hell, I'm eligible for upgrade in March, and I'm looking forward to being able to get something much nicer than an X2.

Agreed. Our devices are still top notch. No need for better

A 90.00 deductible for a device that is listed as only 50.00 difference in cost.... Who comes out good on that deal?:confused:

Basically I enjoyed my Droid X but I am looking for a change, after seeing the of TB Gingerbread roms with Sense 3.0 really make me think, is it time for a change?

I know what you mean. I saw a T-Bolt do something with it's home screen I have never seen a phone's ROM, custom or stock, do before. I cant even describe, except a zero gravity freefall in every direction. Apparently Sense 3.0 is the... lets see if the bad word filter catches this....shiznit! But Im still not leaving my X cuz thats the ONLY cool thing I saw it do. Does Asurion cover all carriers, like they are the name in the game?

im actually kinda sad to see my x go. I bought it on launch day and it has been pretty solid. im losing gingerbread, netflix and god knows what wont work on the x2. Even though im happy to be getting the x2, i really wish my phone didn't hit that puddle.

and its $99

Well make sure you hit up the Android Graveyard thread and tell your story. It's a thread of remembrance and good times.

Losing Netflix? Why doesn't Netflix run on the x2?
