Because a lot of people, getting a 2 year old phone replaced, insist on a new phone. The phone being replaced wasn't new, it was 2 years old, but some people failed logic 101. It's easier (though not nice and possibly illegal) for Asurion to just lie about it. "There, there, don't cry, it's a new phone."So far mune does too. Just don't know why they lied to me.
I have the phone and it works fine. Just disappointed it isn't brand new. Many refurbs revert to bad behavior or I may simply not have tried the function that doesn't work yet.
VZW told me sometimes the deductible is $100 and sometimes $179. Mine was $100. Why would it be 179?
