Rep claimed I got a brand new note 3. Not a refurb. Any way to verify?

It does not but the box is not an original samsung box. The asurion box says nothing about new or refurb. Is there Nothing inside the phone itself to reveal what asurion may not care to?

Oh darn....fine print, light colored font, "remanufactured by Asurion using OEM and other parts" I still wonder if there is a way to check the phone itself because their phone rep swears it is brand new. Ugh

It'd be pretty unusual for Asurion to be handing out brand new phones as replacements. But the one time I had to get a replacement through Asurion, the unit I got worked totally fine.

So far mune does too. Just don't know why they lied to me. Doesn't matter I guess

Because a lot of people, getting a 2 year old phone replaced, insist on a new phone. The phone being replaced wasn't new, it was 2 years old, but some people failed logic 101. It's easier (though not nice and possibly illegal) for Asurion to just lie about it. "There, there, don't cry, it's a new phone."

Working with computers is easier than working with people.

It's goal to get you up and running as soon as possible. In efforts to achieve this goal we do use both new and certified-like-new devices. While we can request for a new device to be sent, we are unable to guarantee it. Rest assured, all of our replacements also come with a 1 year limited warranty! If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks!

I have the phone and it works fine. Just disappointed it isn't brand new. Many refurbs revert to bad behavior or I may simply not have tried the function that doesn't work yet.

VZW told me sometimes the deductible is $100 and sometimes $179. Mine was $100. Why would it be 179?

The vzw rep knew I had a Note 3. Could it be more if it got wet or was lost?

RecDNA,

Since all of our phones come with a 1 year limited warranty, if you should experience any covered warranty failure, a replacement may be sent at no additional cost to you. In regard to the deductible, typically for smartphones the deductible ranges from $99 to $200. However, this varies per carrier and phone type. You can find all the information regarding your specific deductible on www.phoneclaim.com.
