Coming from a Pre + prior to getting a Droid 3 I have a soft spot for WebOS, but I honestly can't recommend someone get the Touchpad. It's overpriced, under-optioned and WebOS really needs to be cleaned up on it. If a person wants WebOS on a tablet, wait for the TP2.

Yeah Ill always have a soft spot for Palm or psuedo palm products. I loved webos when I had my pre and I still kinda do. Would I take it over android? No because of the limited features palm did away with. Sure there may be a way to hack and mod some of them back, but too late for now. With the introduction of the pre in 2009 they went so far in the direction of trying to crush apple without the funds to actually do so that they forsake die hard palm users. Look at my chronology of devices and youll see I was quite in love with palm. But when my 90s technology did more then my 2009 smartphone I got a bit upset.

Now if they ever get back to their roots I may be swayed. But for now android is the only mobile OS that does everything I need in a pocket and tablet device. For now in 2011 just as in 2009 and 2010 webos needs to mature and as each years rolls by it does so at a molasses in winter time pace.

I am too struggling between these two, maybe because I did not have a chance to compare them in person, and especially now that they cost the same.

For me, while it sounded interesting in the beginning, keyboard dock seems quite ridiculous when I think about it. It transforms eeepad into very expensive and underpowered netbook that does not run Windows. If you don't want a keyboard like I don't, then you would not appreciate space taken by docking connector, which could have been used for microUSB and USB host instead. And with USB on Acer, you could even plug a kb in rare occasions you happen to need it. Plus many, many more other gadgets, like 3g usb modem, external HDD, etc.

Now, we all do like a nice screen, but I don't know how much IPS is really nicer than a good TFT. I have a chinese tab with what was supposed to be IPS 9.7, but I don't know if it really is. I am a bit scared to buy a tab that will have worse display than what I already have.

I think I will go for Iconia just for the connectivity.

Good choice. Lots of flexibility in being able to use the keyboard when you need it and the uptime of nearly 16 hours with the keyboard and full size USB doesn't hurt.

I will never buy a keyboard, I need a tab. I hope that Honeycomb will live up to expectations, because this herotab with Froyo 2.2 I have is total crap. This my last attempt to lke Android.

I'm pretty happy with the transformer.. just my 2c. If I wanted busy just a tab I'd probably go for the Samsung. In 3 weeks I haven't used the USB a single time. I think we make too big a deal of things like a full size USB, HDMI, etc. They are hardly used by most IMO. On the other hand, the dock is more than great and constantly in use.

Perhaps I would use the dock more if the typing in forums/web was faster (admittedly, I haven?t tried it since installing 3.2) but even still I have found that I prefer to hold the tablet in portrait while on the net. So the keyboard isn?t as useful.

That said, it is great for travelling. On a 3 day weekend to the in-laws it can run all weekend without a charge. Further, I can just set it on the bed while watching a TV show or movie and not worry about covering up cooling vents (something even a netbook can?t currently do.) Plus, there?s just something about being half way through a long weekend with heavy use, docking the tablet, looking down to see you still have 50% charge left and that the charge level is going *up*.
