I just flashed a boot image with Flashify app from Google Play. I accidently thought BOOT IMAGE is the splash screen before the bootanimation. So I did a dumb thing. I flashed a jpg file to my BOOT PARTITION the device. I could not boot up. Well of course, a jpg image does not contain the files to boot my device. How can I reflash the STOCK ROM or Kernal to my device if my bootloader is locked and my device is not shown in the ADB commands? I have the stock ROM and it is in a zip format. Do I need to unzip it before I flash it? Do I do it in fastboot mode? Please help. Thanks!

i have the same problem with my Asus Memo Pad HD 7 except i flashed cwm recovery through an app and now i can't get to recovery cuz the tablet is in a bootloop at the asus logo. Had to disconnect battery to shut it off.

Someone with a solution please comment.

Thx

Re: Bootloops at the bootlogo image (Asus)

Thx for the reply. I actually fixed mine the same day i posted for a solution. And indeed i used the same tool u linked. The thing i did was since my memopad was still bootloader locked, i thought i would use a shortcut and just see if i can flash a clockwork recovery without the hassle of unlocking it. Found an app on play store called "[ROOT] Recovery Tools - Flasher"( not rom manager) that allows you to flash the recovery file right through android. So i downloaded the recovery file and let the app do it's thing. What i ended up with was a I assume a soft brick. The tablet would start up and five sec later shut off and restart, no way to stop it from powering down and it also stopped charging. When connected to pc, would not get recognized cuz it restarted too soon and the drivers would not get initialized. So i had to open the back case and disconnect the battery.

What saved this tablet was this flasher but what i did was part formatting and part stock flashing. Basically i followed the Unlocking Bootloader and Flashing the Custom Recovery: PART #1 [RECOVERY] [ROMs] ASUS Memo Pad HD 7 (me173x) [MULTILANG] - xda-developers but i did not go thought the special formatting options. After doing the write memory step, i got the pad back and did the stock rom flashing.

Now im with stock rom.

Please update if u fixed urs...

I accidently bricked mine further I flashed the tablet back to stock ROM and I thought it was done, so I removed my tablet from my computer while it was still flashing. Now I have a hard brick willl my tablet will not even turn on. I am going to send it back for warranty service and I will not talk about rooting. I will update if I get warranry service for my tablet.
Update: I got warranty service for my tablet free of charge. I only had to pay shipping.
