Re: Asus TF $249

I went to best buy at 11:00pm, i wasn't going to spend more than 1 hour doing the line. I didn't have any expectations because of the angry mob, I ended buying 3 tablets. Toshiba thrive for $279,acer iconia a100 for $189 and my tf101. I was looking for the acer a500, didn't have any on special. Fortunately for me there was an hispanic guy reselling tickets, i paid $5 for mine and i was #52. They has 76 tf101 units at the store. Since we have ipads 2 at home, initially everything looked bad when i compare it to the ipad 2. I was going to return it next day after spent 12 hours playing with it. Then i decided to root it, change the filesystem to ext2 and put a new rom and voila, my tf101 really start kicking, Oc to 1.4ghz and now i have a serious machine. Not really missing my overpriced ipad 2 64gb.
I just want to mention that stock tf101 with latest 3.2.1really have some serious performance issues. It was laggy and unresponsive most of the time, specially browsing. I am really satisfied now.

I paid somebody at the line for his tf101 ticket and only spent 1 hour in the line. Great machine. It sucks with standard 3.2.1, system was laggy and unresponsive most of the time, specially browsing. Rooted it, change filesystem to ext2, installed a new rom, Oc to 1.4 ghz and now it performs great. I am really satisfied now.

Mine doesn't lag or all with 3.2.1, hoping ICS increases is overall speed and smoothness even more.

Re: Asus TF $249

Just grabbed this off slickdeals for $299. $10 for 3 day shipping, no tax.

Stupid first post won't let me post a link. It's on slickdeals under popular deals.

Edit: Stupid me. The sale is on www.brandsmartusa.com

So is there any chance the Transformer will come down in price again before Christmas? With the Prime coming soon, will that reduce the price of the original Transformer?

I sure hope so, but it hasn't happened so far. I thought the price was going to drop to $299, but I don't see any in stock for that price. Still, I guess the new TF hasn't started shipping yet, so maybe we'll see some price drops at that point. If the price doesn't come down, it will make the decision to buy the Prime that much easier.
