ASUS Zenfone 2: Are you getting one?

The announcement will be April 28th in NYC. That will be the official release date in the US.

Awesome, that's great to hear for the US peeps and AC contest winners, congrats again!;) I'm from the Caribbean, but I've already received my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML 2GB version)... somewhat lol. I bought it from eBay on March 31st and my brother received it on Monday (the 4th) this week, so I'm just waiting for him to send it with someone he knows asap.:p

One thing to keep in mind as far a iPhone 6, Samsungs, Nexus, etc. is some people like me don't want or need a contract phone or an unlocked phone in a $400-$700 range. I don't need to spend $30+ a month on my phone bill.
What i do want is a larger screen, a current processor, a camera that takes good pics, and a company that is solid with a good warranty.
The Zen 2 ZE551ML will be my next phone. Under $300.
I don't use data at home because my computer is connected to my HDTV. When i'm not at home i hardly use data, and if i do i use Wi-Fi. I don't text. Battery use will be non existent in my case.
My new phone will be used to make/receive calls (i guess i'm old school, and also e-mails are a man's best friend), take pics/video's, and misc.things that the Asus Zen 2 has.
That's why i only pay about $5 a month for a phone and will continue with the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML, 3560, 1.8, 2 GB, 32 GB with an H2O acct that allows me to pay so little but also allows me to buy a kick *** phone. The best of both worlds.

Ditto. My phone just died and sadly I want one now. In order for me to wait I need to tranfer over to cricket and get their free phone until Asus releases the Zenphone 2. I really want one but am curious about who the resellers are

Hey future zenfone 2 owners.:) I've been seeing in multiple places on the net that people were hoping that they could flash a different region's firmware in hopes of changing/adding desired LTE network bands for their Zenfone 2.

This method won't fully achieve it since it's primarily a modified hardware limitation, but someone made a guide on the xda zenfone 2 section for how to manually (partially) do this.

I thought i heard that Staples might be selling the Zenfone 2 as far as brick & mortar. We'll know Tuesday when Asus makes an announcement.

The new date for the Asus Zen 2 news conference in NYC is May 18. That's when the Zen 2 ZE551 Z3560 1.8 with 2 GB/32 GB will be revealed.
The ZE 3580 will be revealed soon after.

This is for US consumers. The phone has all the bands for LTE. Patience is a virtue.

I was talking to a Staples employee last week and he said they'd carry the zenfone 2 in that fashion.

Taiwanese brand wont go too far anymore... HTCs and Zenfones are... well.. Even in their country people buy more iPhones! I still might try one for a month...

Just ordered one. Was going to get the 1.89ghz/2gb/16gb version (I don't need the fastest phone), but I figured the $100 extra was a small price to pay for an extra 2gb of RAM, 48gb of storage, AND more speed. Should be here on Thursday!

You made a good decision, the 4GB variant is a beast.

Just pressed the order button on B&H Photos website.
Went for the lower priced version in gray.
Should be here Friday!

Just received mine yesterday that i purchased from Newegg for 299.00. I bought the 4gb ram with 64gb internal memory. Mine is running on the Walmart family mobile powered by T-mobile. The phone works extremely well and super fast. With Android 5.0 it needs the update because the battery will drain with moderate use fairly quickly. However, this is the BEST phone i have ever had and i owned a few.

I have noticed this as well -- The quick charge helps to fight that though. I have found if you can snag a 20 min charge with that 18W charger it flys!
