At a glance weather missing on new pixel 3 xl

I know this issue comes up from time to time but has anyone had this happen on their 3/3 XL? I made sure it's turned on by going to the google now screen and clicking the three dots and making sure weather is on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled google app updates. I have made sure location services is on. Nothing is working. I miss my frog.

It does come up randomly because it appears to be a server-side thing; sometimes it'll be gone for days and then suddenly reappear without any users having done anything.
Unfortunately Google has never explained why this happens, so until it automagically reappears your best bet is to look up the weather manually.
And provide feedback directly to Google about your dissatisfaction with the operation of this feature.

I forget what I did on the Pixel 2XL to get it work. There are a couple of different settings in the Google app that help trigger it. In the meantime download the weather frog shortcut from the play store.

I realized yesterday that this just doesn't work when I'm at work. Worked fine all day yesterday when I was anywhere besides work.

Sometimes I get Froggy, sometimes I don't get Froggy. Most of the time I get Froggy.

Is there something about your workplace such that your phone isn't getting a good location fix? If you go outside your building does it start working?

I have no clue what it is. It doesn't work outside my building either. I ate lunch 2 blocks away and it worked just fine.

Are you connected to your workplace Wifi? If so, the traffic to Google server could be blocked by your corp IT.

I've had that same weather issue on my last 3 Android devices including my pixel..... I've just accepted it's a Google thing. It works most of the time which is good enough for me ;-)

There are times the frog decides to disappear but it comes out in the rain as well

It sometimes does depend on the temperature. I know when it gets to a certain temp it just doesn't show the frog.
