You also don't pay down payments on T-Mobile? They only require one if you don't have good credit.

They do on upgrades and I have good Credit
If you have good credit then you're just paying for tax of the cost of the phone.

I paid $120+tax which makes it around $180. I also know my credit is good. It was technically an "upgrade" so that's probably why

That means you're not in the best credit class tier they have. There are three tiers of down payments.1- $0 down, 2-about half the phone down, and 3-a price in the middle that is closer to 0 than half.

Trust me I am in the class.... I have about a 720 credit score

Nice.
I work at t-mobile. If you got the note 3 you're using it would have been either 0 the tax, 210 plus tax or 300 plus tax all assuming you did not have trade in credit. maybe you did not have enough eip available because you are paying on another device.

I am new with t-mobile. I went in the 19th last month and got the unlimited data plan with my own nexus 5. Then got the note 3 as an "upgrade" for $120+ tax

Sorry 210 is supposed to be 120. So that makes sense. So you are not in the highest tier for whatever reason. In 1 year you will automatically be switched to the top tier.

Nice to know they care about you.... 720 credit score and treat you like that.. (never liked t-mobile just here because it's cheaper)

I am so confused (and slightly worried) by this data plan. I switched to the 10gig share with two lines. I love the extra data, and saving $15 a month... But I know it's not a savings if I have to buy a phone outright in September when my contract ends.
I asked two separate operators at att if i could keep the $15 rate instead of the $40 per month/per phone charge... And both times I was told as long as I kept the plan at 10gigs or above, I would be able to do another two year contract... Has no one else been told this? I kept the printouts of these conversations if there's trouble in September.![]()
You can do a next contract, which would be at full retail, spread over 18 or 26 months (i think)
If you do a 2-year service contract then it would be $40 per line for line access charge.

Which is not what either operator said. I specifically said I would NOT do the next program. I would choose the 2 yr contract with $200 subsidy... They still said I could keep the $15 if I kept over 10gigs. ... It's gonna be really annoying when I go to upgrade later this year. I like the extra data, but it doesn't save me $$ in the long run to do Next or pay full price.
Which is incorrect. If you sign a new service contract to get a subsidized phone then you will have to pay $40 per month line access charge.
The only exception is if you signed a contract before a certain date (sometime in February 2014 I believe), then you can move to the new plan at $15 even while under service contract. But this is a one time deal.

So long as you have records, att would either have to honor it or allow you to switch back to your old plan. But you may have to fight for it

10gb plus 2 lines = $130
10gb plus 2 lines on contract = $180
So if you use NEXT, as long as the phones you get are under $25/mo each, you come out on top with a slightly cheaper monthly and a new phone every 18mo. Which is fine for people like me that don't even touch the old phone anymore
NEXT also avoids that dumb upgrade fee, which i think went to $36/line. They used to waive it all the time for me when it was $18, but not anymore![]()
