AT&T data plan for galaxy nexus

I just ordered a galaxy nexus from the play store last night. I have an iPhone 4 with grandfathered unlimited data plan. I asked an att employee if I got a new unlocked phone if I would keep my unlimited data plan. She said everything I have on my plan would stay the same but that I would need a new sim card. But I'm reading on here that I can just put the sim from my ip4 into the nexus and should have no problem. Do I have it right?

That is correct. You may need a sim adapter for it though. The sim on the iPhone is a micro-sim, and the sim for the nexus is not.

Probably their way of getting you to spend more money in their store.

Outside of an adapter, because, like the guy in front of me said, the iPhone uses a micro-SIM card, you don't need anything more. Just plug the old SIM card into the new phone and you're good to go.

Adapters are like $0.50 on Amazon.

OK thanks for both your answers. I'm going to buy an adapter from amazon. Is there any specific one I should get? Ive seen some that say for iPad so I'm just wondering if it matters.

I didn't want to start a new thread since my question relates to this topic so hopefully someone can help.

Currently I have an unlimited iPhone data plan using a 4S on AT&T. I ordered the GSM Galaxy Nexus from the Google play store yesterday. What unlimited data plan is available for the Nexus on AT&T? Or can I just keep using the same data plan as I am with my 4S?

Thanks in advance. :)

Just put the SIM from the iPhone into the Nexus and it will work. You don't even need an adapter. Just get it lined up correctly and the tray has a tight enough fit it doesn't move.

I bought a cheap one on Amazon and nearly ruined my phone's SIM tray trying to get it out.

I HIGHLY recommend www.microsim-shop.com. I have one from them and it works BEAUTIFULLY. No stickers or anything, your microsim snaps firmly into the adapter with no chance of catching as you pull it out. It's a bit pricier than the bottom-rung Amazon options, but well worth it.
