AT&T Galaxy Note 3 - Text message problems

I noticed an unusual problem. I deleted a single text in a thread and now I am missing 3 days of texts in between 2 days of MMS messages. I thought this may be due to a text limit which was set by default to 200. However I have MMS pics on 1/5 and I am missing dates 1/6 , 1/7 , then MMS is displayed on 1/9 forward. Is there a known bug which may accidentally delete several days of messages even though you only delete on text our of the entire thread. After I deleted the one text I could clearly see the days then that I am missing now.

I just bought the Galaxy Note 3 for my wife yesterday. She has been going off all day because the texting will not work. I found a solution that worked for us on AT&T. If you open the messaging app, go to settings. On top, go to the center (SMS/MMS). Under "Message Center", the number has changed. The OLD number is +13124149810. The new number is +13123149810. You must have the plus sign. I didn't do anything else. So I would think if you are on another carrier, you just need to find out what the correct number is for your Message Center, and that should fix the problem. I have an iphone 5S with iMessage and Facetime both on, and I can receive texts from my wife's Note 3.
