AT&T Galaxy S3 - Emails won't delete

I am having an issue with the email client that came preloaded on the phone. I delete emails and within a few minutes the emails reappear. Is there a way to stop this? I've had this issue since the 4.1 upgrade. It stopped for a while and now it's back.

Delete the email account and set it up again. I've used that with limited success for weird email issues in the past.
