I don't doubt it. Same here. In fact, signal is garbage everywhere basically for AT&T. They're a joke. To be number 2 and so bad? I don't understand.

Most likely we will. Every year I've upgraded with ATT by pre-orders I've gotten it early

Ordered first thing via Best Buy. First time in a long time I ordered through Best Buy. Last time I did it was a painful process waiting for my device. But for an additional 100 off I couldn't resist. Even if I have to wait a few extra days it will be ok since I saved 100.

That's why getting unlocked is the best way to go. No stupid carrier fees.. you own the device and not on a lease.. and resell value is higher.

So the unlocked version is $70 cheaper than the At&t version. Is there a downside of getting the unlocked version over the AT&T version? I am ready to pay the full amount upfront. will the unlocked version not have premium features like hd voice, wifi calling, etc?

You can always check with AT&T. Don't ask them if there is no downside, because they will tell you that OF COURSE there is a downside. But, if you use HD voice or wifi calling ask if those features will work on the unlocked phone.

Going unlocked means that you get to move to a different carrier more easily, if you want. It's also often a bit less expensive if you can manage the full price up front, and you can often avoid the wait imposed by the carrier (due to their testing) for updates.

So far AT&T hasn't allowed WiFi calling on unlocked devices on their network. They did enable HD Voice not too long ago. So maybe we'll see WiFi calling soon. Also other things like Advanced Messaging is also not available.

I have not seen HD voice on any unlocked Samsung phones. I have had both the unlocked s8+ and Note 8. The only current unlocked phone I know if they supports ATT HD voice is the pixel 2.

You may get HD Voice but you won't get wifi calling, video calling and some other things. I know because I have unlocked HTC on AT&T and they won't let you have the good stuff. That's why I'm going back to a carrier phone so I can get all the stuff I've been missing. More timely updates on an unlocked phone are way over blown. I know because I've been on unlocked for a long time.

I found waiting on ATT for updates (some of which never showed up) highly annoying, but to each his own.So each person needs to know the tradeoff and make their own decision.

has anyone gotten notification of their phones being shipped? annoyed seeing Sprint and Samsung Direct are shipping handsets already. Talked to ATT and they tell 3/13-3/15. I told them I can't believe they are falling behind. At least I got them to waive my upgrade fee.
