at&t HTC One (M8) to Unlocked HTC One (M8) for a noob

Any chance there will be a guide or help noobs in converting an at&t branded m8 to the unlocked version? I like sense.... I despise all the at&t bloat. I've never considered replacing the ROM on my phone until now.
