will a at&t htc one unlocked still receive software updates (like jelly bean 4.3) even when runnning on some other network n in some other country ??

When you say unlocked, I take it you mean "carrier unlocked?" If you are bootloader unlocked running a custom ROM then you should not update via OTA as it could break your ROM. If you are carrier unlocked and running the stock ROM then the OTA update should work normally. I can't confirm if running on a different carrier network will prevent the update from hitting your phone or not, I guess you just have to wait and see once you hear posts of people getting the 4.3 update.

Any word on when the AT&T 4.3 update is supposed to hit? I read somewhere that unlocked phones were receiving the update first, then carrier phones would roll out a few days later. Saw an AC thread about the update hitting Verizon HTC One's. Getting antsy...

Canadian carriers have already pushed out the 4.3 update. Shouldn't be too long till AT&T starts pushing it for the One. Anyway, HTC said there is gonna be an update on the status of 4.3 by the end of this week.

I am seeing a message after checking for an update that says "you may check again in 7hrs 44mins.". I wasn't seeing this yesterday, so I think this means we may see the update tonight! (but that's just my guess)

No. it means that you checked at some point yesterday and that you can check again after the specified time.
Either way, at&t won't see 4.3 for at least another week.

Just tried checking updates and after about 3 or 4 minutes it said the server is unavailable. Maybe soon?

Seems like Sprint is pushing out today, which means other US carriers wouldn't be far behind. I wouldn't be surprised if the AT&T one gets pushed by the end of the week.

Unfortunately, still Android 4.1.2 and the ATT software is the same. So what just downloaded and installed on my phone?

Yep, That's what it was. Ive only had the phone for about 10 days. I thought I had done all software, firmware updates. Guess I hadn't.
