AT&T HTC One X shipments indefinitely delayed

All HTC or google has to do is make the context menu appear after a touch and hold action instead of tap, I don't get why that is so hard.

I'm new to this forum and still an IOS user until HTC One X comes back or Galaxy S 3 comes online.

But reading these piss & moan comments are depressing. Some folks act like Android or IOS is putting food on their table. It's a lousy phone folks. It will not solve famine in Africa or elect the next president.

As far as the patent wars, well get use to it. The US patent system is broken and issues like this will continue to occur for the near future. Apple won this round but they are getting their teeth kicked in in other parts of the world regarding patents. Everyone is suing everyone else. Why do u think Google acquired Moto Mobility?? For its patent portfolios!!!

Now Android vs. IOS is so 3rd grade!! If you love your Android phone then God & Google love you and if you love eating the Apple then let God & Jobs ghost enjoy it!!!

Frankly, I an not going to use 1 millisecond of stress on fighting about which platform is better. You know which is better? Which ever phone at the time I want. I have a iPhone 4 now and so I'm eating my apple but when my HTC One X is available I will be making sweet love to my Ice Cream Sandwich. If a year from now Mango is wetting my appeitite then I'm loving me some Microsoft.

I drive a Jeep but I don't care or judge those who drive a Chevy or Ford, I drink Pepsi but I won't insult a guy that only drinks Coca Cola. I value my time too much to worry about fanboys and fangirls. Mind your own business and spend your money on whatever dang phone u want. Stop judging folks that don't agree with your decision and move on.

This isn't global warming or terrorism it's a funky butt phone!!!

Well, to each his own i suppose. I'd much rather get worked up about a monkey butt phone than global warming or terrorism. AT least i can do something about that, global warming, world peace, not so much...

But i am with you, i'll go with whoever can provide the best experience, no brand loyalty here, & i won't critisize anyone for their choices, either - (unless u opt for the "super butt ugly EVO 4G LTE"... lol j/k: )

I just ordered a One X from Ebay. I hope it's brand new like the seller says. I've sold phones on Ebay but never bought one. I hadn't known about this lawsuit with Apple until recently and wondered why the phones were sold out so fast.

FYI. for all you One X fans, Amazon has them in stock with the price of $119.99..

Personally I'm waiting for the GS3, but thought I'd mention it here on this forum. :)

HTC smartphones clear US customs despite ban - Taipei Times

Looks like the delay is over, and the HOX, both versions, is cleared for entry.

When the smoke clears you will find Apple demanded this inspection, in spite of HTC's assertion that they had removed the offending features back in December.

Here's an interesting strategic thought and process, that others are hinting on:

--Release/announce phone in US (HTC One X, E4GLTE)

--Send phones through customs early, expecting a hold/delay due to ITC ruling

--Either the hold runs slightly long, or you time the announcement of the ITC hold so you can point a finger back at Apple, saying "We won't make our release date because those jerks won a lawsuit."

--The push through Customs magically happens quickly, because it was already in progress when it was announced. HTC saves face and looks like the good guy.

--Who loses? In the public eye, Apple. and Customs. Privately, you, but you've taken less of a hit than being completely transparent and pushing back the launch.

Or, a fork: Sprint forces HTC's hand with pre-orders and optimistic estimates of the Customs hold. When that doesn't pan out, they're forced to backtrack. So Sprint fudged it up for everyone (surprise).

I'm willing to bet good money HTC knew its products would face a hold at the border, and is playing it out strategically. These things don't happen all of a sudden.

Actually the Amazon $119.99 deal is for all types whether new or upgrades. What will be interesting is to see if the price drops further when the GS3 is released to be more competitive. I cannot imagine the price on the GS3 being under $199, even at the beginning at Amazon.

Apple can't demand it though. Once they won the Exclusion Order, it was taken out of their hands and put into the ITC's and Custom's. Based on what HTC's said, its likely Apple didn't even know about this until after the units had already been placed on hold.

Good luck with that. You won't change anyone's mind about scope of Apple's involvement. Because HTC lost to Apple, most will simply assume Apple had some sort of pull with US Customs and the USITC to block the HTC devices.

Question is......Are the first waves of One X and One S,s that made it thru before
the lock down at customs the super phones? Since all the others have been sabotaged/Appletaged.
:p

I was lucky that there was one left at my ATT store. The lady even tried to sell it to me before I decided to get the Lumia 900. That was a huge mistake so I came right back in the next day and picked it up.

I'm hoping they come back in stock quickly. I have the white One X, and the thing picks up stains so quickly that it's just unbearable.

I want to exchange it for a black one before my 30 days is up next week.

by the way - no 32GB version available on ATT?

Two of my local best buys had black ones in stock this past weekend. Did you get yours at AT&T?

I came close to getting a Lumia 900 too, because I was curious to see how the whole metro UI thing was, and it looked like it would be a good phone, but then I saw the stores demo HTC One X and, well, that plan went right out the window.

I'm curious what you thought of the Lumia in the brief time you had it? Was it a trainwreck, or a decent phone that just couldn't compete with the HOX?
