AT&T Jelly Bean Update FINALLY Available via Kies!!!!!

My update from Kies stops also. It downloads the components, then I think it prepares them, then the update window goes away and Kies re-establishes a connection to the GS3.

I found that a Crash Dump is created. I found it here on my Win 7 64. C:\Users\Public\Documents\CrashDump

It has two files, a 'CrashDmp.log and SGH-I747_20121204113605.dmp. I have done this twice, and it just adds another one of the long file name files, but only has one 'CrashDmp.log' file.

I loaded the latest Kies from Samsung this morning, and have already re-booted my computer and phone to see if this helps, which it did not. I will try turnign on 4G mobile data to see if that helps.

My friend has the S3 and phone got stuck at 0 forever when kies was downloading.. What to do? Im doing the recovery now...

I can't get this to work. Tried the various suggestions in this thread.

1 - Click Upgrade Kies: screen says "Latest version is installed. 2.5.0.12104_15"
2 - Click Tools / Firmware upgrade settings - Latest firmware autodownload is checked (bot nothing shows up in the window below it)
3 - Click Tools / Firmware upgrade an initialization - screen says "SGH-I747 does not support initializing"

What am I doing wrong? I'll admit to being a recent iPhone convert, but I still consider myself somewhat PC / phone savvy. This is embarrassing.

There will be no OTA, you have to use Kies.

Happy to report that I finally have jellybean! Everything seems fine except that my led light appears to be dimmer. Time to explore.

I'm waiting for the Ota update.

According to ATT there's not gonna be one. It's Kies or nothing.

I am the same thing. I have updated, uninstalled, and reinstalled Kies 3 times and still it gets stuck at 7% on the Preparing for update. I've always had problems with Kies on my Captivate.

Can anyone help? I have downloaded Kies onto imac (10.6.8). I know, yes I own a Mac...

After updating to the latest version of Kies, and recharging my phone to 100%,and trying two different usb cables, I keep getting this message:

"Cannot access the model information server. Try later."

Sometimes it happens at 18% download, others at 30something% others at 50something%

I also noticed that android file transfer doesn't recognize the phone either. I am completely stock. I really don't want to do a factory reset.

What version of OSX are you running? Before this update I didn't have Kies, nor truly understand what it was so I had to go to Samsungs website to download it. Make sure you have the current version of Java installed before you upgrade Kies. If it is not current you can't upgrade. Hope that helps, and good luck!

I'm on Version 10.5.8 I also looked if there are any software updates available on my computer and it said everything is up to date. I uninstalled Kies twice just now and noticed after I get the update prompt, the update crashes when I press update. Then I get the message about reporting the problem to Apple, relaunching or ignore. This is so frustrating!

I have the same problem on my mac book. I am trying it on my 10.6 mac, but I am having trouble too, despite having the latest Kies.

My update went surprisingly smooth since I was rooted bit I'm loving all the little changes annnnnd the addition of the driving mode toggle.

Ok. Got it to work. Apparently, the download was causing my Internet connection to cut off. I hopped onto a neighbors network and all went well. On JB!

Now we need to thread going through all of the new additions to the OS.

I uninstalled Kies, and re-installed from scratch. Still getting same version number and same other operation as described in my 1:37 PM message above. Any clue what I'm missing??
