Does anyone know the model number of the AT&T version? I want to purchase the AT&T version off contract, but AT&T will not sell it to me without a contract.

What do you mean they won't sell it to you? They told me I could buy it at full retail in store. I am not "due" for an upgrade so will by paying full retail. I so have an AT&T contract however. Are you out of your contract with them?

They told that customers with upgrades or new customers contracts get preferential treatment over retail customers because of the limited supply of phones. They said if I wanted to buy the phone, I would have purchase it from a third party vendor. This was at the 5th Ave midtown store in Manhattan, NY.

Just went to my local att store in CA and they said they can't place an order for me until it's out, so basically told me to go there on the 4th and buy it then.

So does anyone know the model number for the AT&T version? The ones on eBay seem to be the international version.

Buy the unlocked T-Mobile version from Negri. Cheaper than retail and already unlocked. Should also work on ATTs LTE bands.

Well there could be something preventing it from working, but I doubt it. It has the correct radios installed and T-Mobile is not locking the bootloader or anything else so it should be plug and play if the phones unlocked.

by looking at the specs, the T-Mobile version has all the bands AT&T uses + bands that T-Mobile uses, have it unlock and flip-flop between AT&T and T-Mobile

The model number for the AT&T version is SM-N900A. I don't want to get the T-Mobile version as no one is 100% sure that it work on AT&T's LTE band, and I don't want to be the guinea pig to find out that it doesn't work.

AT&T informed me that they would have plenty of phones on launch day, and that buying at full retail wouldn't be an issue.

If the phone is unlocked and supports the bands that a certain carrier requires, there's really no reason that the phone should not work. I currently have an international unlocked note 2 and works on att just fine sans LTE since it doesn't have the 700 band.

The T-Mobile version will work on ATT.

However, I would try a different store if AT&T said they wouldn't sell to you. That just doesn't sound right.

Just buy it on contract and then cancel and pay the Cancellation fee. It should work out to be the same price maybe even a bit cheaper.

Wait, how does buying on contract and then cancelling help? Unless you plan on using the phone on tmobile or straighttalk instead.
