AT&T Note 3: Stock NB4 System Files and Restore

Are you certain about this? Many youtube videos are saying not to install in the stock rom. I would love to install in stock position.

I've had no issues at all. I've even made a backup of slot 1 and restored it to my stock slot. And this is nothing but the stock ROM with root. I think that might have been the case when ss first came out, that it didn't support flashing to the stock slot, but it definitely seems to work now. Check the saftstrap thread on XDA if you're unsure

Oh ****... I was just about to write that I flashed to stock rom and my magazine still didn't work. I rebooted and now IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! I get to keep all my data and settings and my phone is back to normal!!!!! YAY! I love you man!!!!!!

Ha, very cool, glad it worked out for ya! You can even delete your ROM slots other than the stock one, and then uninstall safestrap thru the app, in prep. for the ota update when that time comes. That's what I'm gonna do

ok...I said I wasn't going to root again, but it would seem that I was incorrect in that statement: LOL! I just did the restore to MJ5, using this <Link> that you turned me on to;. I stopped and did not root. Now, my question is, should/can I use Kingo root; or what other method of root do you recommend? I'm currently on NB4, and want to flash your stock NB4 rom to get rid of all the AT&T stuff.

I want to be able to install safestrap and then use your provided NB4 rom in one of the slots.

What are your orders sir? :-D

I went ahead and used the RLDV method, worked great, I'm rooted. I've downloaded your NB4 stock with root. Guess the only question left is... What rom do you recommend that keeps me stock, but without all the bloatware? Will Azure Rom work? Or which one do you recommend? I need to be able to keep my SPEN and Samsung Gear Watch. :-0

Kingo works on MJ5 and NB4, but it seems that on NB4, you have to use version 1.8, since 2.0 doesn't seem to work on NB4. Other than that there aren't any complications or anything. I personally just used Kingo 1.8 on NB4.

By the way tho, the NB4 files I posted here are completely stock, so they have all the AT&T bloat included. I posted them so people could restore their system if they messed something up or removed stuff. So it is a completely stock ROM just with root included.

I would probanly recommend Firenote, as it seems to be completely stable and tweaked just right. I tried it and was impressed at how it ran. I really haven't tried the others..

There is another person in need of help, and needing the 1.8 version of Kingo...can you point me to the download? He's using 1.20 and it fails on NB4. Here's the thread we are in:

Have you tried updating to kitkat? I unrooted with kingo and im back to official status but after install im still on 4.3.

Yeah, this update is a b*tch, it is very difficult to revert your device sufficiently for the update to succeed. http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=374660

There is also a thread over at XDA where someone outlines all the changes you need to make in order to get the update to work. But even then, some people who never rooted are failing with the update!!

Next I installed MJ5 with odin and Heimdall and it still won't update to BNB4 so I am only inches closer. Can I use these file to get to stock BNB4 and then update to Kit Kat? If so how?

How long is the first boot suppose to take...i did everything as posted...stuck at the blue and white ATT ball....just pulled battery and still stuck on the blue and white ball.

Fixed...did a factory rest and wiped...rebooted and booted right up. Deleted SuperUser and Safestrap...100% stock now and downloading update..so we shall see

Honestly, just take it to an AT&T or Samsung Bar (Bestbuy). They'll flash the latest FW for you. There have been many here that have done this.
