AT&T Return Trade-In Thread.

Just to give update. Pre-ordered 2 s20 ultras . Got the mail in return packaging for trade ins but didn't trust the packaging. Took them to corporate att store on Sept. 2. They were 2 iphone 7s. Got the credit on my bill yesterday. Was nervous the whole time, but it worked out.

Awesome, and I didn't even have to wait for 3 billing cycles. ;)
 
Why don't you guys just do the trade in at the store in person? More convenient and faster.

I actually called AT&T customer service and they suggested that due to delays, it would be better to go into the store for the trade-in. I just did so last night with no issues. I really liked the idea of knowing on the spot if my devices were acceptable. My wife's S8 had the back glass replaced so I was a bit concerned. I had no problems whatsoever.
 
When I check my trade-in status I see this:

Still missing the blue dot above:
Trade Completed and Payment Sent/Promotion Applied

So hopefully I'm good with my trade. I actually used the envelope then sent me but I put the phone in another bubble wrap pack inside that envelope they sent. AT&T should still send a box to return your phone in.
 
I'm at wits end.

First time I called. Indian girl hung up on me. Never called back.

Second time I call, a lady claims she put in a case. Wrote down notes. Tier 2 will get back to me. Never happens... So I call the next week. Nice guy answers. Says there is no case and no notes, so he sets it up for me. They should email me back they said...


Tier 2 support didn't do anything. They basically just copied and pasted the same crap the automated system did. I emailed back, telling them this is unacceptable, and who do I need to contact? Nothing.

So I call back again the next day. First ATT trade in... Indian girl says suddenly, that actually that my phone says it is fine and should be getting credit. She says she can't see promotional credit so sends me to customer care. Another out source guy answers. He says to disregard 12 dollar emails, and that I should have full credit. I ask him to triple check, he says yes, for that phone and line. Ask him to send me an email.

Never received it.

So I call back again today.... 3 different people say that it's not their department. Finally call trade in again, nice guy answers. Says he will contact trade in. A lady is there. She says she can't do anything but refer me to tier 2 support again. And that there's no indication my phone is worth anything. She says I also can't get my phone back.

They have lied to me CONSISTENTLY, AND stole my phone!!!

What the hell can i do now? I need help.
 
Just wanted to update here too and finally this week my plan updated and shows the credits. 2 this month due to last month of me paying the full price. So all is good for me too.
 
Lucky you @NIZMOZ44. My bill showed up today online too and no credits shown... guess I am going to have to wait another 30 days. :-\

For anyone who returned their trade in to the store in-person, double check to make sure corporate received it. It turns out that the trade in isn't really credited until they get the device. I turned in two and only one was listed as being sent even though both were accepted in the store. I have a receipt for that, but apparently that doesn't mean as much to AT&T as I thought it would. I'm still in the process of working this out.

If you go to CORP ATT Store, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Not true. I took mine to a corporate store. They check them and filled out forms saying they are all good, no cracks, etc. Then the corporate store mails them to the trade in department and they review them and make final decision.

Mine was done on the spot and value and given my paper.

Another 30 days later... credits coming through :). N20U has been great phone. Not bad for $300.

My bill looks exactly the same :)

I don't usually look forward to any bills but I kept checking for my new At&T bill to see if the promo went through and I finally got my bill today.
