AT&T Software Update

Received a software update today on my AT&T V20. Now have caught up to the April security patch.

Not sure if anything else was included. No info about it on AT&T's website.

I got it too but have not downloaded it. Will do it tonight when I am sleeping. I can't be with a frozen phone during the day.

My update popped up on the screen for 2 seconds then disappeared, went to Software Update in settings and it says continue update, I tap it and nothing happens, this is on WiFi, same thing on mobile data.

It showed the update then disappeared then I went to the software update it says continue update but nothing happens when I press it. Tried restarting the phone too same problem

Mine finally went through, now I'm really sorry I did the update. After the update, which seems to only be the April Security update my phone is almost useless. I figured I would clear the cache, the one through settings not through recovery mode, it took 15 minutes just to get from calculating to where you hit clear cache, then went it does its calculating again it never stopped saying calculating, I watched my battery go from 63% to 50% in the 10 minutes of waiting for it to stop calculating, which it never did. My phone was heating up like crazy. I'll give it a day and then I guess I'll do a FDR if it doesn't go back to normal. My first LG phone in 4 years, I just got it this week, not a good start :/

Just tried to use smart cleaning, too, and mine did the same thing as yours. Wouldn't stop clocking. GRRRRR

Does this phone have no Recovery to boot into to wipe cache? I tried every power on volume key combination, the only thing that came up was a full data reset. I have to admit I haven't used an LG phone since the Optimus G time. Also I don't know if this is also because it's an AT&T carrier phone. I guess I got spoiled with unlocked and Nexus phones. Overall I do like the phone, just have to get familiar with LG software.

This is what happened when I had my V10 with Verizon. Did the update.... Battery was trash after that. Phone was on charger 3+ times a day! I did the update.... I'm scared now.

I'm actually feeling the same way after the update however I'm also patiently waiting on my S8+ sometime next week

I figure I'll need to tolerate issues if any for about a week ?!

After the update it takes minimum 5 charging cycle to become stable again...pls don't jump to conclusions...be happy that they are giving the security update

After I updated, I wasn't able to send pictures via my messaging app. I'm using stock. I found that there was a setting that I needed to turn on located in the messaging app. Three dots at top right, settings, more, advanced messaging, advanced messaging. I think I noticed this setting before but it didn't do anything. Now it appears that it actually allows you to send larger messages via MMS.

how long have you had your V20? I have found that batteries often degrade after about a year, which is why I prefer phones with removable batteries

I guess you mean noticeable degradation.
