Downloading a new update on AT&T. 166.37MB - most likely the December security update other carriers are getting.

No update on the AT&T software update site at this time.

Update completed. December 1 security patch level.

Downloaded and installed. Very nice fast security updates from both Samsung and ATT. nicely done.

Installed my December update tonight. Looked ok... until I decided to plug my phone into my charger and it gave me that standard slow charge message and make sure I'm using supplied charger/cable... which I was  unplugged/plugged and message came back. Third time ok.

Last time I had that was same time experienced lock ups on AOD while charging and pretty much after the November update my phone hasn't done that or showed that slow charge messaging at all... until the December update. I really hope it doesn't cause my lock ups to return.

I have to say... Android/Samsung updates don't inspire confidence or provide peace of mind like you'd think updates thats suppose to fix bugs should. :-\

Sounds like you might have to a factory reset or do a warranty exchange. Or you might have a bad charger.

I have had no issues with any updates so far. I do make sure that I wipe dalvik cache after every update.

All my updates have worked fine. All you using BK Disabler by any chance? That can cause issues with OTAs if you don't re-enable everything before updating.

How do you do this?

Turn off phone, hold up volume , Bixby button and power same time. Screen will turn blue and say installing update, then no command screen after that. use the volume buttons to go up and down. Go to wipe cache and press power button to select.

Re: AT&T Update today

Well since update I've gone through a couple of full charges and no freezing/locking so thats good but besides factory charger/cable I used an Aukey charger and Aukey cable and get same low power message too... but it didnt affect charge after reseating and no message... just irritating to have pop.

I don't really think it's a hardware issue to deal with replacement. You can end up with other issues with replacement.

It's end of year... I use to have a habit of erasing my phone every year or to rule out any bugs in a phone and I usually have a ritual of erasing a new phone out of box before I set it up for first time but didn't do that with this phone. Other than that I'm still pretty satisfied with the performance of the phone.

Sounds like you might have to a factory reset or do a warranty exchange. Or you might have a bad charger.

I am using BK Disabler. I did read another post someone uninstalling and reinstalling BK when they had a related issue so after last update I didn't uninstall/reinstall but I went to BK and re-enabled all the apps I disabled and then after reboot re-disabled the apps and made sure all services for each app remained disabled too. Don't know if it helped but figured I'd cover all basis. Marking all disabled apps as favorites makes it easy to enable/disable quickly.

Yep. Phone froze up. Completely black screen while in my pocket. Pressing power volume force rebooted. I knew it after seeing the slow charge message after the December update. Just gonna do new year erase and hope it helps.
