One of my workers just brought his Note 20u into my office and said something has changed on my phone. I looked at it and sure enough a bunch of things changed. I looked at his software settings and sure enough his device updated to Android 11 and One UI version 3.0. He said it was a forced update in that he wasn't shown the normal update ready screen. It just popped up and said your device will restart in XX seconds for an update. So the update is being pushed to some AT&T Note 20U customers. Ready or not here it comes!

AT&T 3.0 update rolled out over the weekend. I'm currently downloading it now!

I think if you're on WiFi and YOU don't answer the question, "Update Now or Later" within a certain amount of time (guess 2 or 3 minutes), it just starts the update! That could be what happened to your Co-worker - turned his phone on, set it on the table for a few minutes to do something else and... too late! ???

Hasn't hit my phone yet. I'm really in no hurry anyway. I won't see too much of a difference I hope. I use Nova prime as a launcher so we'll see. I read somewhere that this update breaks edge lighting? Hopefully that isn't true. Good lock I expect will not work at first either. Any major changes I should know about?

I don't use "Edge Lighting" so can't attest to that or not. There are lots of little things BUT a very simple little thing is really BIG to me. You can now "Double Tap" to "Lock" your screen like you could "Wake" it before! Beats having to hold the damned phone with two hands to press the power button!!!

Re: AT&T Update

My edge lighting works fine after the update. The people who said it's broken probably just don't know how to work the new options .The settings are different.

It shouldn't be broken as it wasn't broken on beta.

I could have sworn I always had double tap to lock except I don't really use it. I just use the power button one handed. Also I don't have a lot of empty space to tap on my home screen.

"Double-tap to Wake" was always there - "Double-tap to Sleep" is new! (According to two different reviewers anyway... anyone that's still running Android 10/OneUI 2.5 that can check this? (kixfan?)

This was added to Android 11, Android 10 never had double tap lock on Homescreen.
