AT&T update

This is very disappointing to hear! I'm having the same damn problem! I called AT&T this past Friday about not getting the Android 10 update yet. I was told that they had magically pushed the OTA update to me and I should get it within 24 to 48 hours and I still haven't gotten it yet.

What's even more disappointing is that this is my second S10+ having this same problem. My first S10+ that I pre-ordered was stuck on the February 2019 security patch until I broke the screen at the end of October. I got a brand new replacement S10+ from Asurion. Now my replacement S10+ (which was brand new in a retail box) is stuck on the August 2019 security patch level and I still haven't received the Android 10 update.

I don't understand what's going on with AT&T and updating these phones! I've had Samsung Galaxy phones on AT&T since the S5 Active and never had any issues receiving updates.
I'm getting the same story from ATT. I ultimately decided to wait on this upgrade after reading so many postings regarding issues with Android 10.

FINALLY, I got my S10 to update to Android 10.

If you read my previous posts, you'll see that I tried everything. I chatted with AT&T several times, chatted with Samsung, neither of which helped. My S10 was at the October security update which is old since Samsung updates every month. I finally tried something I read online: swap out the SIM card. I pulled the SIM card from my wife's iPad (AT&T) and put it in my S10 phone, and when I checked for software updates it started downloading an update! Since I haven't received any updates or patches since October, my phone had to download every patch sequentially, install it, and reboot the phone. So after several downloads and reboots, I finally got up to the December security patch with Android 10.

So, I definitely think my OTA update issues were tied to my SIM card. I'm going to visit my local AT&T store this weekend and see if they can swap it out for a new card so I don't have this issue in the future.

Well that's quite interesting... I'm going to try changing the SIM card also.

Thanks for letting us know how you got this issue responded!

Just tried this and I now have Android 10. Thank you!

I'm happy to hear the Sim card was the problem , this will help lot of other's on Att .

I just got a January Security Update. Hoping this gets rid of my ridiculous recent apps lag I've had ever since updating to Android 10.

Two nights ago I tried putting the SIM card from my AT&T iPad into my S10+ and checked for updates and it said my software was up to date. :-(

What exactly did you guys do to get the OTA updates to come down to your phone? Did you manually check for updates after putting in the different SIM card? If so, how long did you wait before checking for updates after putting in the different SIM card?

Thanks!

It seems you can only manually check once every 24 hrs. After I put in the SIM card I rebooted my phone and manually checked for the update.

Yes, I'm aware that AT&T only lets you check once every 24 hours. Which drives me nuts when trying to troubleshoot the issue of not getting updates! When I changed the SIM card, I hadn't checked for an update on several days. So that should not have been the problem.

I turned my phone and iPad off and took the SIM card out of the iPad and put it into my phone and turned the phone back on. Within a few minutes of turning the phone on and putting my PIN in, I checked for updates. I'm wondering if I should have waited a little longer aster turning the phone on and checking for updates...

Do you remember about how long you waited before checking for updates?

Thanks!

I checked for updates about 2 mins after I rebooted.

I just got the security update too on AT&T. Initially I don't notice anything new.

I got it too. Nothing new. I was hoping they would pick up the Google update (from November or December) that allowed third-party launchers to use the Google gestures. No such luck.
