At what point should I upgrade my phone?

I have a Samsung G3 and basically use the phone features, camera, email and google to search.

Welcome to Android Central! If you really do nothing else, then you don't have to upgrade ever. But all devices will start to fail after a while, because flash memory does not last forever (which is also why you should always back up your important data regularly.

If it suits your needs and you don't want to fork out the cash I'd just stick with the galaxy s3. It's still a great device
