Atrix 2 Contacts Issues

So, I upgraded my phone from the Samsung Captivate to the Motorola Atrix 2. What I loved about my Captivate was the way contacts were synced--especially contact pictures. It was incredibly easy to join contacts with Google, Facebook, and Twitter. I could even choose which FB or Twitter contacts to be included. Also, 98% of my contact pictures came from syncing with Facebook and Twitter. How can I do this through the Atrix 2? Is there an app for this? I don't want to be setting individual pictures for each person.

P.S. I did add a Facebook Account in Menu>Settings>Accounts but the pictures don't show up in contacts or in widgets like Messaging Widgets by jack.virtu (sp?). If anything, how can I fix this? I'm starting to miss Samsung :/

You are probably not being patient enough. All of your facebook contacts will have their pics show up, but when you do an initial setup of your phone, these things don't happen instantly. There is SO much happening in the background on your initial setup that it takes a bit of time to sync everything. I am on day 28 with this phone and absolutely love it, and yes, all my contacts have their current profile pic! Good luck with your new phone.

I just got Motorola Atrix 2 and at the store they transferred my contacts from my old iPhone to the new Atrix 2 phone. When I got home I added Gmail and FB accounts. But now, when I go to contacts, I see each contact repeated.
I want to have only one set synced with Gmail if possible. Please explain.

Most of your contacts will merge themselves, but for those that don't, open the contact, open the settings, and press "join". Tap the other account(s) you wish to join with that one and it will merge them together. It's a pain, but you shouldn't have to do it after this initial setup.

That being the case, I would go into my accounts and delete the facebook account. I have seen this before, where a new phone had SO much to sync initially, it failed to complete some of them. See if deleting, then reinstalling the facebook account cleans this mess up for you.

Did that before twice and it didn't work Could you possibly try out the Messaging Widgets app and let me know if pictures from contacts synced to facebook show up for you?

OK, did that, and despite the fact that all of my contacts pictures are current, only the android dude shows up in that widget. If you go into your contacts, are the pictures there, but just not showing up in the widget?

just wondering have you shutdown your phone and restarted it yet? I was having problems not seeing some pictures in contacts but after a phone shutdown and restart it went back to normal and its been normal for a few days now ^_^.

Hmm yup that's exactly my case! >_< Okay, kind of glad I'm not the only one then. I find it funny how Motorola with MOTOBLUR considers itself very social network oriented yet it's not a fully integrated feature on third party apps. Samsung had no problem with it though. Ah, guess I'm just going to deal with it x|

Yes, I have. Even factory reset my phone too (it was still new so I didn't mind losing a little data). Pictures show up in contacts fine. Just not other applications like Messaging Widgets which is very convenient and used a lot by me x)

I don't see that option, either. As a matter of fact, I don't recall ever seeing an option for this. The pics just came in.

Im having some issues ...when i go to accounts it shows that I've added my facebook account...but if i try to click it it does not let me click in the username part its just grayed...it will let me type in password but requires user name as well ....also when i first added my facebook account it just said success after i signed in never gave me the option to sync ...ehen i try to upload videos like from YouTube to my facebook page it says i don't have a social networking account set up...ive tried to uninstall and reinstall fbook but it still doesnt work, please helpppp!

PITA is an understatement. Once I brought all my contacts into my phone, I spent another half hour weeding out the dupes. There has to be a better way...
