Atrix or Infuse?

That's interesting. How early or in how many months is it showing that you are eligible? The best I have been able to get is either a 15 month at full discount or a 6 month at discount + 75. I believe the 6 month has gone up in price but I am not quite sure what the amount is.

It doesnt show me for some reason. I bought the Captivate brand new on the day it came out. Then I went to buy the Atrix and it showed the $200 price. So I took it. Dont know how long after that was. Maybe 6-7 months? I think the Captivate came out in August. Something like that. Even if they didnt give it to me for the discounted price, I can sell the Atrix and buy it for retail.

Edit: Noticed this on AT&Ts site. You can take advantage of our full retail pricing option. Additional discounts may be available on 07/17/2012. More Details: Equipment discounts are available from time to time based on a number of factors: service tenure, spending levels, payment history, usage practices, and other factors

Maybe because I make payments on time and have over a $110 bill every month? I dunno lol

I wouldn't think so, as I pay around $160 a month and don't miss my payments and I've never received this type of treatment. I've been a member with AT&T since...since it was AT&T before it was Cingular Wireless LOL.

If you pay $100 (per line) a month, your upgrades do come quicker. I was upgrading every year with my primary line.

+1 i pay about $170 a month and get yearly upgrades at discounted prices

Seconded. Have a Atrix myself and it is a great balance - good battery life, no lags, great call quality and great storage up to 48Gb.

Alright we need an AT&T employee to clear this up. Having a bill over $100 has nothing to do with your early eligability. In reality it breaks down like this (these are two scenarios)

Individual line (one person phone plan) gets STANDARD upgrade permission every 16 to 24 months. Now, depending on your on time payment history, late payment history, line suspensions, carrying past due balances and/or late fee tack ons... those can hinder your ability to upgrade. Pay on time for a year straight and maybe you'll get a 16 month upgrade or maybe earlier. Not trying to be rude or inconsiderate but being a "long time customer with AT&T" is like telling a dead person a story. It doesn't matter and it never will. If your a long time customer with AT&T and have 6 non pay suspensions, you are more of a pain in the ass than an honored customer and you don't deserve a phone before 24 months.

Moving on...

Then you have family plans (2-5 lines) there is one PRIMARY line that you can switch every month to get better incentives on phone and earlier upgrades. Being a primary line literally has absolutely nothing to do with who is the ACCOUNT HOLDER. So yes... the account holder does not have to be the primary line. My 6 year old brother can be the primary line on my account and it will still be in my name. No the bills wont go to my little brother he's 6... they will come to whoever owns the account.primary line is a pricing term used by agents (me) and customer service to give the customer one particular line better pricing, upgrade times, etc. Every line that is not primary is a SECONDARY LINE and again, depending on your payment history and so on might get those secondary lines earlier upgradeS.

The end.

Oh PS I use an Infuse and I love it. Thanks :)
