Atrix or iPhone

you're right about the front facing cam... that was actually the responses i used against the HTC Inspire 4G. my bad.

you may not understand how many devices i use, but i currently have a samsung that does out before i go to sleep with wifi-only (no cell data) and light usage. i switch batteries before i go to sleep and by the time i wake up.

the atrix on motorola > samsung devices with the "beautiful" screens. and i don't even have the brightness on high... it's on auto.

glad you skipped over the "media dock" part because that isn't $500. but since it's about money for you, you could always use the webtop hack and not have to buy any of the accessories. you also didn't say anything about the 1gb of ram.

how much research have you done on the atrix that you're commenting and make so many inaccurate statements? there are apps that do take advantage of the dual cores. what does MotoBlur have to do with the responsiveness of the screen, or lack there of on HTC devices?

also, how is 15 hours of battery use on my atrix (heavy usage... almost 8500 sms done with 6 days left on my cycle) with 30% battery left not top notch? no battery saving tips being used, screen on auto, tons of emails, twittering, about an hour worth of calls and wifi/gps on all day.

First off, give me a screen shot of this heavy usage and 15 hours, if you don't have it your full of it, sms' do not kill battery bud.
My screen is always on 100%.
Also wifi uses less battery then 3g does (or mobile data).
Gps uses minimal unless your in maps or using an app that needs to use gps.
And the actual android os 2.2 or 2.3 isn't optimized for dual cores, don't try to say otherwise, do research.
Yeah 1gb cool, nexus s doesn't have that, it has half, ****ty yes but I played with a gsm nexus s and it didn't lag at anything i threw at it.
Because motoblur sucks ass, I'm not the only one who thinks so, any android user that has used it agrees, if you do not agree then your just justifying your purchase.

I bet you believe the atrix is the best because the att commercial says so huh? lol.
It's a good phone no doubt, but I don't think it's the best at all, yeah it has good specs but it's still on a carrier that does not give two ****s about their customer, my mom USED to have att (last year) and their CS reps are all rude as hell on the phone, so she switched to Tmobile and hasen't complained since. The only reason att has more people is the iphone, wait a year or so until people's contracts end, maybe not now since their trying to buy and ruin tmobile.

As for the media dock what it charges the phone and has usb ports and an hdmi port? cool my evo does all that without needing to buy it, as well as full hdmi mirroring. And it's not about money, I'd rather buy a computer for $500 that will outperform any phone then buy something for $500, money isn't an issue for me at all, I don't buy any of my phone's on contract :)

And what samsung device are you using that's dying soo fast?
And I'm not trying to up talk the nexus s because of the 'beautiful screen' it's a pure google phone and not a phone with a bunch of **** added on.

Oh and the Nexus S doesn't get hot after a certain amount of time of usage, neither does any HTC phone I've owned (g1, mt3g, mt4g,nexus1,evo, inspire).

I still own my iPhone 4 32gb and carry it from time to time. One thing you also have to deal with is the 5 to 10 waiting for a call to replaced. I can put my SIM in my Atrix or Inspire and the call go right through.

Before I sound like a fanboy you have to understand I own a lot of Apple products and love them. In my opinion they just work, while they dont give you the ability to customize the experience but they work. And frankly no other company has answered them when it comes to digital media, music, movies, or TV. I wish Amazon or Google would get serious about this market but they haven't yet

Just my two cents....

honestly its not cause the atrix is new that we like it more than the I-Dumb phone. Its because reception at least for me is better than an i phone 4 and its a nice web experience.I phone got a better screen...wooo so what its a small advantage.I phone apps are kool ok so what those apps will destroy your battery and you know what if you dont have a charger youre screwed and stuck with a fancy paper weight, while I can take out my spare battery and laugh as I go online with my phone.Might I also add I can hold my phone any way I want and my radio wont be acting up...

I believe I posted a screen shot on twitter (@duvi), find it. otherwise, enjoy believing it's a lie... i could care less. if you actually read my posts on here (when i first got the phone), I wasn't too fond of the battery. Wiped my device, calibrated my battery and started using the charger that it came with instead of my samsung FOCUS and i have had great battery ever since. And why wouldn't turning on the display a few hundred times a day not kill the battery? Do you understand that "screen on" = battery drain?

Thanks for proving my point with wifi. I have both wifi and cellular data turned on for my atrix, but only wifi for my FOCUS.

My GPS is being used several times a day. Not referring to Navigation because I won't even get 8 hours if I use it for an extended period of time, but for 4sq and the weather (Beautiful Widgets).

What you're saying is... Nvidia has a bunch of liars working for them. They create an app (Tegra Zone) to show apps that take advantage of the dual-cores, but the device doesn't really do that? That's what you're saying? Ok buddy.

Seems like you're trying to justify your purchase. I own every phone I want. I have a WebOS, iOS, Android, BlackBerry and wp7 all in front of me, so if I didn't like the device, I wouldn't have it. Simple. This is my first time using MotoBlur and have no issues with it. Is it better than Sense? Who cares? I haven't even rooted my device trying to get "GingerBlur" which obviously means I'm happy with the device as-is.

I bet you believe the atrix is the best because the att commercial says so huh? lol.

Wrong... once again. I believe (for me) it's the best Android device out now and better than my iPhone, but I actually like the battery hog of a Focus more (wp7) right now. I'm no where near being a fanboy for any company... in fact, i'm not loyal to any. I go with whatever I want and like at the time.

So the iPhone is the reason T-mobile is losing subscribers? And in case you didn't know, AT&T bought T-mobile. Waiting on approval. So I guess you were right, when their contract is up, they'll be "going to T-mobile" aka AT&T... lmao. Let me welcome you to AT&T in advance ;)

You just skimmed over my post. You don't NEED the $500 dock! This must be your only rebuttal. You don't even need the the media dock which is $90. You DO NOT NEED ANY DOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what samsung device are you using that's dying soo fast?
read up son

I understand... with half the amount of ram, half the processing power, I would want a little as possible on my phone too. That's exactly how I felt using my Nexus One. Glad I don't have to worry about that anymore.

The mt4g & inspire too huh? You still own these devices? Or did you return them?

The mt4g & inspire too huh? You still own these devices? Or did you return them?

I never owned a Inspire, I would never get on ATT.
No I didn't return them, I had tmobile, look at the devices they are in order..

I didn't buy a Nexus S so how can I be justifying my purchase?
And any new android phone (even the 8 month old evo) is a **** ton better then the crap iphone.

I never said you need a dock, I said the webtop thing wasn't worth the money.

The Atrix gets hot, it's on this forum as well as XDA, a users atrix's fingerprint button got all hot and so did his battery now his screen isn't functioning correctly, what a great phone huh?

And we will see if the att tmobile merger even goes through, I do not have tmobile again, I have sprint, I have an evo..

No I'm not saying anything about nvidia, Yeah there are apps that use the dual core's power but the android os is not optimized for dual core phones yet (2.2 or 2.3) Ice cream will be.

Yes duh screen on means battery kill, I leave my brightness on 100, gps on, wifi on (or 4g when I'm at work), as well as running a bunch of app's and I get 9~ hours on heavy use (7-8 when I'm using navigation a lot, and I mean 3.5 hours of navigation for multiple locations not just 10 mins use)
And that's on a 1500mah on my evo.

Anyways have fun with your Atrix, my intentions weren't to say it's a POS but it sure as hell isn't the best phone out, sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe when they fix the problems the phone is having and maybe if they put it on a carrier with actual 4g (and before you try to insult wimax, i get steady 5+ mbps in sacramento area, in actual downtown I get 9.5+).

Sorry it's not in order, but I do not care too much to quote every paragraph of yours'.

:D

edit: oh and,

there's a reason why there isn't a lot of dev support for the atrix ..

Like I've said in other posts, weigh in the pros and cons and then make a decision on what fits you in daily usage. As for me, I'm loving the open source aspect with Android. I'm not the type person thats going to download all the apps in the market and more like download the things that I need in daily use. Throw in some awesome Tegra Zone games and I'm set.

Well said!

If your going to just text, web and call get the Iphone/ if not the atrix. The only issue is with out a jailbreak some videos will not play on the iphone.

i'm not going to acknowledge the rest of your statements because more than likely, they're untrue like the statement you just made. check out your statement below, yet you say you've never owned one. LMAO!

Keep your respones to a certain level. If you do not own an Atrix, please refrain from coming into this forum and starting a debacle. None of us need to be this way. Thank you.

I agree, if you don't have the atrix why troll the atrix forums? ... Android Central has your device covered, go hang in the proper forum if you don't have anything nice to say.

I see you have an Atrix and Xoom like myself. How are you loving that Xoom?

lol thats funny because you guys were saying crap about other phones and praising that your beloved $30 phone is the best on the market.
yeah right, i proved my point, have fun with your 'hot' phone.

Your choice bud...

I came from an iPhone 4 and I must say that it is a smooth running machine...even jailbroken. I gave it to my wife and I bought the Atrix. I came to the Android side to see how it works. First off, call & text reminders are easily obtainable on the Android OS platform where in the iOs OS it isn't(unless jailbroken). Google maps on the android has speech where the iOs does not (jailbroken app for speech soon). Speech recognition is better on the android. Android app notifications are a little goofy. The Ebay app notifications works fine. Scorecenter doesn't seem to have notifications or does it? So far the Apple app notification system seems to be more defined. I'll tell you that the Iphone(not jailbroken) cannot hold up to the Atrix when it comes to customization. A Jailbroken Iphone is another story. About the battery...I think the Iphone 4 has it for longevity.

This thread is about the Iphone vs the Atrix. If you aren't adding to that topic then please don't comment at all. If you don't have something constructive to say then don't say anything at all.
