Atrix Update Available

still in the same boat, un rooted, removed alot of apps, tried both OTA and PC based, gets 1/3 of the way through the reboot and shows droid with exclamation mark. reboots and tells me update failed.

Can anyone figure this out. I will keep trying and documenting. if I get it to work I will post.

You need to do a fresh install of 2.3.5, then do the update. The update requires you to have the bloat.

I tried updating my rooted atrix when it prompted me this morning. Tried twice and just said update failed. I'm understanding it's because I need to do a fresh install of the previous version first? Yuck... the real question I have then is: is it worth it? I do have some issues it'd be nice if it fixed. But I've spent a lot of time getting rid of useless crap and getting it to function the way I like.

Also, I saw a couple people post about texts to wrong contacts. The problem I've had during the past few months is getting a text that clearly included a portion of a very old text at the end. Very confusing and saw on the person's phone who sent it that it went out normal. Mixed up texts are VERY weird.

Any input would be appreciated

yeah i had a text come to my phone, but you are talking about 2.3.6 update aren't you??? and i cannot wait until ICS rolls out for the atrix its gonna be sick

Downloaded the AT&T update over wifi. So far so good. Using Spb Shell 3D as my launcher.

I was rooted and dl ota and everything went smooth and don't have any problems yet....emphasis on yet.....

Was rooted, held off on the update for a week. Did it ota and lost root obviously but no problems that I've ran into.

I just did the update the update got half ways then it failed and showed the android with the exclamation mark and now whenever i power my phone on it turns itself off and tries too update and fails i also cant enter boot loader it freezes at the m screen when its starting rsd does anyone know how to fix
