I called ATT , after my HTC One (which I guess is an M7, it's older) one day decided a new version was available and downloaded and installed it on the phone....I HATE some of the changes...before , a double click on the home button brought up nice, easy to see small, rectangular icons of every open app...now it's this bizarre and unwiedly scrolling look, no good....Much more aggregious, has been the horrible performance drop...apps hang and freeze, the worst is texting with the default texting app..a hanging delay occurs everytime I try to send a text to anyone and then it flat out boots me out of the ap!..Every time. There are other noticeable worse things but these I remember off the top of my head.........makes me wonder, do people look forward to OS updates for no other reason than they think they need the latest version, just because it's the latest version? lol....Anyway, the ATT tech admitted they have gotten MANY call complaints after their phones updated to this 'lollipop' (who NAMES these ? lol) OS update...They said they can't do anything about it , but can only hope the powers that be release a newer update that fixes all the horrible crap changes and poor performance...

Reading this and other Android forums would certainly make you think so.

Anyway, the ATT tech admitted they have gotten MANY call complaints after their phones updated to this 'lollipop'
The manager of my local store and I were talking about this about 2 days after the update was released. they had already gotten people walking in, asking to be reverted back.

(who NAMES these ? lol)
Google. They're all deserts.

They said they can't do anything about it , but can only hope the powers that be release a newer update that fixes all the horrible crap changes and poor performance...
I'd settle for an update that had something worth wasting the 5 minutes it takes to update for. LolliFlop isn't it. Load the phone with bugs just to get a white and green UI? I may be stupid, but at least one of my brain cells is still trying to work. (And on an Amoled screen, that means less battery life than a black UI.)

BTW, you have the option of choosing the running apps layout style. When you double tap the home button to bring up the running apps screen, simply press the 3 dots on the top right corner and then press >settings>layout>grid view. That will give you the old style back.

Has anyone had any success in an ATT store? Getting an upgrade or exchange of any kind?

I just got the 5.0.2 update yesterday (seems like I was WAY behind for some reason) and the update broke my Bluetooth, GPS and the battery life is now terrible (got less than 7 hours out of it today). The phone is essentially unusable for me as I'm on the road constantly for work - Bluetooth and GPS are the two features I absolutely need and neither of them work anymore. This is unbelievable, was there any testing done before this was released?

They must have done some testing. My wife & I both got the OTA update to 5.0.2 & they're like having new phones. The UI is much smoother & battery life has improved. The UI takes a little getting used to but in all we're satisfied with the update. It does seem like a lot of people haven't been as lucky!

I haven't been able to get the Lollipop upgrade on my M7, but I have updated my Nexus 7 through the various Lollipop versions and there were some that were problematic. 5.1 is is the best of them all, but I don't think HTC is going to push that version out to the M7.
