Att samsung s6 6.0 marshmallow

Well, if I'm not wrong this Marshmallow 6.0 upgrade has been out for eight months ago ; October 2015. I bought my Galaxy S6 at AT&T on May 6 2015. So, it's late too late. This is not an acceptable delay of a Google Android Platform Upgrade. Before the S6 my former phone was a Google Nexus 5, I'm not waiting no more for an upgrade to my S6. I'm just waiting for the arrival of Google Nexus 2016 phone.

I just checked my S6 and it says my software is up to date. Still on Lollipop...

yea i mean slowly all the carriers have been releasing it to the different phones but samsung which isnt a google phone needs to be approved which it was finally about 2 months ago now!? and all the carriers got it out on thier phones in april i was hoping att would have it out by the end of april but still waiting! haha att is just always the last to do the update cause they like do a crap ton of testing before they release to make sure it works good most of the other companies release it then there our bugs and then they send out patches i just wish att wasnt so slow at figuring it out! but its rumored we r skipping 6.0 and going to 6.1 when its released on the s6

Well, I hope this means we'll see an OTA update for our S6's real soon!

Anyone have it yet?

Keep seeing stories that it is rolling out now or soon but it's pretty clear that nobody except a few people at AT&T actually know a damn thing - and they're keeping it a closely guarded secret!

Nothing yet. Though according to the XDA thread I posted above there hasn't been anything new pulled from the AT&T update server for about a week. So I'm hopeful that it will be soon.

Also, you can use the code *#8736364# from the dialer to bring up a software update option that doesn't have the 24 hour wait restriction.

I kinda don't mind waiting if it means they're making sure this update has as few bugs as possible. I HOPE this is the case!!

The HTC One M8 and M9 both just got OTA approval and will start pushing out tomorrow. Could we get lucky too?

I used the XDA instructions and sideloaded marshmallow over a week ago, haven't seen any issues and battery life seems better, not sure why AT&T won't push it yet for OTA. Just a warning for anyone wanting to go the sideload route, it completely wipes your phone, so backup to your PC or cloud.

I sideloaded Marshmallow on my S6 Active the other night. and it runs perfect. It's clearly stated that it's an unofficial build and came directly from ATT's Update Server. It seems that all that needs to push it out is clicking the OTA button in the system. Why they are waiting so long is beyond me. I started to think that they want to hold out to use the S7 w/ Marshmallow 6.0.1 as a selling point.

Imagine going into an ATT store and seeing both the S6 and S7 on Marshmallow. Unless you specifically want your device to be water resistant, with removable storage and larger battery you might spring for a cheaper device that would offer the same user experience.

I did the same thing a few days ago. Not only am I getting better battery life, the apps are running buttery smooth. Some of that could be due to the fact that it is a totally wiped phone, but I did have it restore every app that was on there before. AT&T needs to get off their butts and push this release out into the wild. I will never buy another carrier branded phone again. All they are offering is interest free loans on the phones these days unless you are switching carriers and take advantage of a BOGO.

I was wanting to get rid of my S6, but it now has new life. I guess that is why they don't want the update out. The update makes this a good phone...the phone it should have been last year.
