Att samsung s6 6.0 marshmallow

I talked to Samsung today (via live chat support line on the website) and they confirmed two things for me:

1. If you normally use fingerprints to unlock your phone, the requirement to enter your password (or pin, or whatever) upon each reboot to initially unlock your phone is something you cannot turn off.

2. They also said that AT&T must have removed the "memory" option in the settings, which is the setting that allows you view RAM usage.

This is a dumb question, but where oh where do we find ram management now? Do not see it in app manager and had to dig for it.

It's been moved to settings/system/developer options/running services

You will have to turn developer options on by clicking the build number 5 times consecutively under about device

One good thing, you can now select all emails and delete without reading. You have to check the first one and that opens a select all box at the top. It's about time. I am talking about Pop3 email, not Gmail.

Is anyone here having a battery problem where Android system is keeping your phone awake while it should be sleeping/idling just after removing off the charger. It started after marshmallow. Can you guys check it. If there is huge usage by Android system.

I haven't noticed any particular heavy battery usage. If anything, it seems to be a little bit better than before. For reference, I'm currently 8:46 on my current charge, and have 75% remaining. My Screen is 17% and my Android OS is also 17%. Google Services is 16% with everything else in single digits.

It would probably not be a good idea to tell folks to move the date forward to get the update. I have done so twice now, once for a day and then for ten days. I now have to wait 234 more hours to check again for an update.

I have never posted here before, but I really need some help, and I am hoping you guys can give me some advice. I, too, was patiently waiting for Marshmallow for months. I got a notification finally a little over a week ago that I had a software update available, but it said I needed to free up 3.2gbs of space to be able to update. If the update is about 1.5gb, why does it want so much more free space? My phone is not full or out of space. I have tried uninstalling every app I don't use, but most of those can't be uninstalled. I found four apps that I installed but don't use. I also don't have 3gbs of pictures... I have no videos. So what do I remove and why do I need to remove so much?? Any advice would be hugely helpful! Thank you in advance!

Jennifer, go in to settings, find storage, and see if you have several Gb of cache. If so, tap on cache and tell it to clear it.

The main thing I can report after the update is rather MASSIVELY better battery "standby" life. Whether I've got a Wi-Fi connection, or, most especially, if I just have a cellular connection. So, when I'm out and about, or overnight with the Wi-Fi off, my battery charge isn't falling NEARLY as much as it did before. So, I'm happy about that.

About the only thing that I don't like is how the screen now "fades in" when I open my cover case, rather than just popping up instantly. It's only a split-second to wait, but I've never had to wait before. (No, I don't have any lock screen to work through.) I sure haven't found any way to adjust that, anywhere.
