Attaching lanyard to case

One thing I really miss from my Sony phone is a lanyard/wrist strap attachment point, so I'm curious if anyone's managed to figure out a good way to attach one to a Pixel case.

The problem I've run into is that looping one between openings on a regular case causes the case to bulge out and not fit right at that point (even with the very thin piece of cord used to attach wrist straps). I have ordered a Ringke Fusion case, which has a built-in attachment point, but it's not my favorite case so I'd rather find an alternative if possible.

if you're ok with making changes to the case you can probably either loop the cord in through one of the pre-existing holes (it'd have to be a very long thread, though) or just glue it to a corner of the case.

glue i would not trust to be strong enough, and my one attempt at looping through existing hols in the case caused the case to bulge at that point -- I guess there's no air gap between the phone and case in that particular... erm... case!
