attachment size limit exceeded??

I never used to have this happen but the past 2 days every single pic I'm trying to send via text won't attach, I just get the message that the attachment size limit has been exceeded? Any reason this would start out of the blue?

Odd. As a workaround possibly just send them a link to the photo(s) on Google photos?
