These cases are being recalled! Take them off! They say it will mess up your power button! This is not a joke! I have provided helpful information. My sprint service tech just txt me. Go return it at the store!

? I have the black one, but the case is no where near the power button how can it affect the power button?

Are you talking about the white hard case with the chrome trim? It doesn't look like it is close enough to the power button to affect it. I'd have to see some sort of official word from Sprint before I go rushing back to the store to return it.

The email that Sprint Store was not specific on what was the issue. All i know is they were recalled. Just passing it along.

First you say you got a text, then you say you got an e-mail. First you say it will mess up the power button, then you say the recall is not specific about potential problems.

I'm calling BS.

Well my, yes you have.

On a more serious note, I am definitely returning the POS Body Glove-made, Sprint-branded hard case (see it here). Its silver backing is beginning to peel off from the edges in some areas, and with just about 24hrs of use, I shudder to think how well it would stand up after a few months of use. It's quite fragile too, I seriously doubt it would survive anything stronger than a bump.

I actually trust an Invisible Shield (waiting for mine in the mail, 50% coupon FTW) more than this particular case, specially with lifetime replacements.

Just to clarify for those that don't know and should have included it in my original post. I am not a Sprint employee. A very close friend of mine is a service tech and since I bought one for my wife she immediately txt me and told me to take the case off. Again I am just passing around info.

I agree. Your story doesnt even make sense, and you contradict yourself all over the place.

It goes from "YOUR SERVICE TECH" to then to a "EMAIL FROM SPRINT STORE" and now your "FRIEND WHO IS A SPRINT SERVICE TECH AND YOUR WIFE TEXT YOU"

I dont know why you feel this great desire to troll over something stupid.

Also the case is still being sold on Sprint's website, so you sir are full of ****.

My wife didn't txt. My friend that works for sprint did. Wow. Just forget it. Here I am trying to provide info for you guys but some people have to be jerks about it. Mode close this thread.

All you folks with low post counts need to do a little research before you start slamming someone. BigRick10 has provided these forums with a lot of valuable legit information. My suggestion for those of you with the white case is to call Sprint or stop by your local store to either confirm or deny the information he's posted.

Thanks for the heads up BigRick10, I'll be stopping by my local Sprint store today with the case and my receipt to make the return.

He may be well intentioned, but his posts completely contradict each other, if you read them. I could care less about someone's post count because even noobs have something valuable to add, and those who post alot can sometimes be misinformed.

Maybe you can post back and let us know after visiting sprint and verify his news.

I have the white case and the power button is no where near the casing so right now im keepin mine b/c im loving it. Anyone call the Sprint Store yet to verify this is indeed an issue?

Then if that is the case i appologize. I was sent this from a Sprint Rep that is a very close friend of mine. I agree the case gets no where near the power button. All i was doing was providing what was sent to me. That is all.

Ok guys I have an update. This was just a temporary recall. Eel that is what Sprint is calling it. People were putting on the case backwards. Or more like upside down. So yes those cases are ok. Again sorry. As I mentioned I we just passing information along.

I'm guessing they shouldn't have a smartphone if they can't put on a case correctly. I mean, it caused a temp recall.
