Since we're stuck buying phones @ full retail, does anyone with unlimited data see themselves purchasing the Note 2, or will you be waiting for the successor of the Galaxy Nexus (provided Verizon carries it)? Personally, I'm blown away with the Note 2's specs. I love the size and the quad core processor will give this phone wings.

I will probably hold on until early next year to purchase a new phone.. the new LG phone looks awesome.. Maxx HD looks awesome and perhaps by then we will have more details on the new Nexus and maybe a SG4

Hanging onto mine as long as I'm happy with it, at that point I'll root and be happy for awhile longer... this is my first phone that I'm still happy with almost a year later..
Its like my Xoom... I see no reason to sell it... there's nothing out there that blows me away yet...

I'm keeping this bad boy for a while. Still happy with its performance and size.

I am in no hurry to spend $$$ on a new phone.

I refuse to give up my unlimited data so I'll be buying mine used for the foreseeable future.

I won't buy a phone that isn't a Nexus.. and it's almost a given VZW won't carry another one, so whenever I do get a new phone it's likely I leave VZW and my unlimited data. But I'm on contract for another year so I will likely just stick with my Gnex until then. However if VZ miraculously gets a new Nexus that comes out this year I'll likely pay full price to upgrade.

Same here. I'm happy with my Nexus, non-rooted, running semi-official JB with older radios for better bluetooth performance. You can't do that with any other phone on VZW. What has me slightly intrigued is the Razr Maxx HD. I like its form factor and massive battery. The Note II is also intriguing to me and may take a look at it, too. I'm not a huge fan of TouchWiz, though. I do like the S-pen, so I would have to keep it on there. I'm interested in the next Nexus. That would probably get first dibs at my money provided its decent upgrade.
A decent upgrade for me would be:
1) Any A-15 based dual-core or quad core processor
2) Larger Battery
3) Equal or better form factor. I like the plug on the bottom for audio, I don't like where the speaker is. I constantly cover it up when trying to watch something.
4) Equal or better camera. Unlike most, I'm a fan of the sensor. You can take decent photos with this phone. I was at a wedding this past weekend and my fiance's aunt kept saying, Wow, those pictures look way better than the iPhone. We also took pictures at a dark bar a few weeks ago and my Fiance's friend (a new iPhone user from a Blackberry), loved the picture of her I took, we couldn't get a decent photo with her iPhone. JellyBean may have helped this out, but I have some great pictures from January as well.

All this with a cherry on top.

Id like another nexus if vzw decides to carry it when it comes. I do have a year left on my contract so im not really thinking about it..the note 2 isnt even on my radar. im on the fence with vzw. if they dont have the new nexus when I go to get a new phone then i might seriously consider leaving them. I will prob fight with them first to see if I can get them to cave on the unlimited data before I do anything though. I wouldn't mind some of the newer moto phones that are coming if I cant get a nexus on vzw and they "let" me keep my unlimited data.
thats just there im at right now.

I wont be with verizon next year. I just can't see myself paying over $300 for a new phone and that is only happening on a new contract. Sprint will be getting my money next year when my contract is up. will be keeping my nexus as a backup if i dont end up liking Sprints service.
I am already itching to get into another device (still love my nexus though) so it will be hard for me to keep this phone a year from now.

and the Note 1 is too big for me...so the note 2 is out for sure. SGS3 is a nice size phone though, and the new LG looks nice.

I'm keeping my GNEX and unlimited for as long as I can. But I hear the siren of shiny new tech calling me as all these new toys get announced, with more announcements to come most likely. I will try and wait until late winter/early spring and get something used (hopefully a new Nexus device on VZW) and keep unlimited. That is my goal anyway.

I figure I'm going to jump away from Verizon after this. If I pay 700 for a phone to keep my unlimited what's to say in a few weeks to a few months Verizon just won't get rid of me because they can easily do that because you aren't under contact. I will just buy the next nexus outright from Google and probably go to t-mobile. At least then i will get timely updates and not have to wait 7 months..I know they don't have lte but they also don't have the iPhone dragging down their crappy network and since I'm in the northeast I will still get decent speeds.

I will buy pay full price and would like another Nexus, however will probably end up going with the Motorola Droid Maxx HD as it looks like it will be pretty close to a Nexus device and should get updates fairly quickly. At least as quickly as any Nexus device on VZW...

I have a company phone. One of the guys on my staff is in charge of vendor relationship with Verizon. He's a miracle worker and knows how to work their system. I can get any new phone and keep unlimited data. With that in mind, I like the Nexus and see no compelling need to switch as long as the latest version of Android runs reasonably fast.

The hardware is just the container for the OS. And, it's the OS that we interact with all day long. Unless there's some compelling reason to need new hardware then there's no reason to switch.

And, one more thing... I would prefer never using a phone with a button on the front. The version of JB that I'm using let's me rotate in any direction and I often use it upside down so that the cables come out the top instead of the bottom. Makes more sense in a lot of instances. The S3, for example, with its hard button and row of adjoining buttons makes this all but impossible. The Nexus, with no hard buttons, is genius.

The Note 2 is definitely intriguing, I'm seriously considering getting it. I love my Nexus but if Verizon doesn't get the next Nexus I'm not leaving them and giving up unlimited data just to get a phone.

not to sure Id count on this...
youll get the next major update, but that will probably be it....

My xoom is almost 2 years old and still getting updates... good luck seeing that on a non GED...

IMHO ofcourse

X2 , I am def getting the Note 2, i'll probably pick one up on craigslist or ebay to save a couple hundred dollars. It sucks that the Gnex isn't worth anything for resale, they seem to be selling for $200 all day long on craigslist and ebay, and the phone is only a few months old.

I live in a fairly rural area. Verizon is the only game in my village. I am pretty well stuck on Verizon. I cannot justify spending that much money on a phone just to keep unlimited data.

I am getting the Note 2. When the Note 1 was announced I wanted it but Verizon never got it. The only thing that I hate is that I need to shell out $800. I do want to keep my unlimited data.

Keeping my GNex for the full two, then we'll see.

I have an N7 so I can't see the point of a Note.
