The A9 was, and indeed still is, an undeniably good-looking device, and that had been maintained in this simpler version, with reduced specs which ought nevertheless to be perfectly adequate for a mid-range device. As long as HTC does not pitch the price too high, as arguably they did on the A9, this could be a good seller.

In my opinion, people are better buying off Nexus 5x/OnePlus 3/Axon 7 just for the price sake, however, these devices are better because of the reasons mentioned below.

Nexus 5x

1. Midrange hardware
2. On time updates

OnePlus 3/Axon 7

I bought a zte Zmax pro for $40...same s617 chip and 2gb ram. 32gb internal. Fps. Fhd (a9s has 720p). Granted it did require port in and one month service.
