Audi a4 message notifications not showing

hello all,
I hope someone can help me because I'm all out of ideas.
I had to replace my galaxy s8 as it wasn't charging. my old s8 was showing notifications on my cars display when someone sent a message or whatsapp.
with the new phone, I've set it up and ita connected to the car BUT the notifications do not show. ive reset and reinstalled andriod auto on my phone, deleted Bluetooth connection and paired it to the car it without success. any help would be appreciated.
