You would need to have a boot ani that actually has audio included

I haven't looked into it yet. It would require edits to the build prop and commands in the boot animation script to play a audio file.

Sound was handled in froyo and GB with a wav file named PowerOn.wav in the system/etc directory.
I placed a PowerOn.wav in system/etc and no workie.
I am far from smart enough to figure whats going on...probably needs kernel support. When custom kernels came out for the fascinate and charge, the sound didn't play till the devs put in support for sound.
