Audio gets louder when waking up

So when I am playing music and go to wake it up, the volume gets louder. Does this make sense, or is this normal? Audio is still good, just odd. I wasn't sure if there was a setting or not? When I had a M8 once before, I'm not sure if I remember it doing that. Just wanted to make sure I'm not having some weird defect in my phone or something.

That is strange. I don't see why it would do that..

I've noticed something similar. I don't think it's the volume that changes, more like the stereo separation. And it doesn't do it all the time. Weird.

Do you have the Google Launcher installed? I've noticed a volume boost or perhaps just different spread when I'm listening to Spotify on my ear buds and swipe up to launch Google Now. I have Nova Launcher, but if you're using Google Launcher, perhaps the same effect occurs on wakeup.
