Question Audio output switches to headphones even if they aren't connected and I can't hear anything. I have only wired headphones. Fix?

I can't hear anything from my phone and when I call instead of the speaker icon there is a headphone icon and I have to switch to speaker in order to hear the person I'm speaking to. This happens when they are not connected. How to fix?

What phone do you have? Is Bluetooth on when this happens? Is any other Bluetooth device besides headphones paired with the phone at the time?

Welcome to Android Central! If your phone has a headphone jack, use a can of compressed air to blow it out, and a toothpick to root around, in case there's some debris in there that's making the phone think headphones are plugged in.
