I'm having a little bit of an issue with my Evo. I use it in the car to listen to music with an aux cable to the input on my car stereo.

Twice since I got the phone, the actual audio output has been skipping, just like a scratched CD. I was streaming Jango at the time so I switched to Pandora and then to locally stored music off my SD card and all three instances it skipped. Both times have been during the past few weeks. Any ideas?

I would try for a replacement, but it is so random I can't duplicate the problem at the store.

Oh and if it makes a difference, it is stock 2.2

Do a search of the forums for headset jack on the EVO. Its a known issue where a 2 or 3 ring device will not sit properly and if its jarred it will cause pause, or skip or stop. In some cases it will call voice mail. LOL

Its looking for a 3 rin connection, basically a device with left, right and mic connectors. An auxilary jack like the one your using is a 2 ring connection, ground, left and right. Whats happening is its loose in there and causing a short on the part that tells it to stop, pause or initiate a voice call.

If you were to plug a headset with mic into it you wouldnt have the problem.
I have the same set up in my truck and got to where i use my blackberry or an MP3 player to listen to music when driving as the problem got to bad for me to use while driving.
