None other than..... T-MOBILE.

They usually late , and reason I kept my Att sim on the Note 20U.

The August 1st update was available after checking in Settings/Software update. My Note 20 Ultra is a US unlocked model and on WiFi at the moment, no SIM.

On TMO, used an ancient ATT SIM, now on August update. Was still on June before.

No update here unlocked T mobile. Still on June security patch

I too was on June security patch. Read neopolotin75's reply (2nd above) and thought to give it a try. But, only extra sim I had was a Tello, T-Mobile MVNO. Put Tello sim in my Note 20 Ultra 5g Factory unlocked from Samsung and when phone powered up I had the July update waiting to download. Download finished and installed, phone rebooted and August update available. Downloaded and installed, all working well with Tello sim.
Put T-Mobile Sim back in, August update showing in settings and everything working fine. That's insane, phone wouldn't update with T-Mobile sim which I was using from day one but updates with T-Mobile MVNO sim. Go figure?

No update here unlocked T mobile. Still on June security patch

Same as you. Not sure what is up. I even tried removing the sim and just leaving the phone without a sim hoping it would update. Maybe I need to leave the sim out a little longer. Isn't there a system app that we can clear cache for to help check if there is an update?

You can go to settings>apps>system apps>scroll until you see 2 update icon and clear it's data then force stop., Sometimes it works then manually check for software update
