Hey guys,

My Galaxy S4 I9505 (4G) LCD is now broken. I'm trying to source a replacement LCD/Digitizer, though didn't want to spend big due to the age of the phone. It's still an alright phone for my needs though, and it has data on it that I need, so that's why I'm gonna try and fix.

I've looked on ebay and local marketplaces, trying to source one with a decent LCD that someone selling cheap. but in case I don't fine one, are there any good website / sellers that sell OK non-oem, or good refurbished OEM cheaply (<$50AUD / $30ish USD). I've checked Aliexpress and ebay, and can get some around $30-$40AUD, which are likely just a basic non-oem (non-oled?) screen. Not sure on the quality though.

Also, when they say with/without 'frame'.. is that just the silver border around the phone? Should I get it with or without? The one I have seems fine, but I'm not sure if I'll need extra adhesive to secure it to the replacement screen.

Also, are screens cross-compatible ? If I find another S4 model (i.e I9500, I545 etc..), would it likely fit the I9505, or would I need a screen specifically for the I9505 ?

Thanks :)

I wouldn't suggest that you spend a penny more than you had to, to find a 9505 with a working screen (even if the rest of the phone is physically destroyed). Just replace the screen on your phone (whether it fits physically or not - it can be connected but not mounted), either plug the phone into a computer and take the data off or copy everything to the cloud, then do a factory reset, remove your Google account and bin it. The entire phone, gently used, (and with a factory LCD/digitizer) doesn't cost much more than the cheapest screen you'll find.

Thanks Rukbat,

Do you know if I can connect a screen from a different model Galaxy, such as a Galaxy S3, or would connector likely be different ?
