Auto Correct (Auto text) in HandCent

I had seen variations on this topic posted in a few places and I had asked the question myself and got/found no answers until now....

In Handcent settings/application settings/auto text setting/ you can add your own replacements to the list. Customize it any way you like.. I did three for the time being:

u = you
r = are
b = be

but you could add anything like

w = Where are you?
w1 = What are you doing tonight?
w2 = Where do you want to go to dinner?
w3 = When are you going to be home?

etc. You get the idea. Create your own quick/auto text enteries that only require a key or two and the space bar.

I just noticed that my auto correct isn't working on my epic... anyone know what could cause this? auto correct is checked in the settings menu. It is however capitalizing correctly what could be the issue?

There are separate settings for each keyboard in the settings menu. Swype, Android and Physical keyboards each have their own settings for those things.

UPDATE... the auto correct/text options above only work with the physical keyboard. :-(

I discovered the same thing. Is there a way to create auto text (r for are, etc.) using swype?
