Auto-correct "u" ---> "you"

Using ultra keyboard I can add/ change things.

Right now by default it changes u to I.

check it out....it's in my appbrain list.

Just downloaded it. It's pretty awesome, I must say.

Question though, what would be the best way to shortcut for logins and passwords? I have some pretty long user IDs/logins and crazy alpha-numeric passwords.

I don't know about Smart Keyboard (I haven't tried it), but back in the BB days, I would use "codes" to represent frequently used passwords. So, like, PWC1 would convert to a password, PWC2 to another password, etc. If Smart Keyboard has a true auto text, I don't see why it can't do this.

If you try it, please report back!

I'd like to know as well. This has been the one thing that has kept me grounded to BB and not able to move on just yet.
AutoText also helps when making modifications to websites from my mobile device. I have the most common HTML codes setup with a few key strokes. This makes for entering the code faster and more efficient.

If I can find a good keyboard with AutoText I might be OK.

When trying out the Droid phones, it seems as though they don't have an overall speck check built in. Just predictive input as I type.

Great idea, however when I tried it in the AMEX app, it didn't work. I tried it with Smart KB.

You may not be able to do this in apps. There seems to be a uniform default for password fields in apps that turns off predictive text (T9, auto text, etc). But you might still be able to do it in the web browser (although that is less useful since the browser will remember passwords...).

Thanks for trying, cabs!
